Weekly Newsletter 106: August 11-17

Published on 17 August 2024 at 01:50

It’s pre order week! The book box of An Angel Ensnared is now available here in the shop! I’m so excited!!! I also did a lot of writing, and posting about the books online, plus I ordered the art prints yesterday! Yes, I ordered them in advance…

Author's Life:

SO, this week was spent figuring out which artwork was going to be featured on the prints, and writing. I didn’t do much outside the house… Which only left more time for writing!

Writing & Editing:

Writing

This week, I just felt so disconnected from An Angel Falls and had only 3k words on Tuesday. I was in a bit of a slump and unsure how I’d messed up. Then one of my favorite indie bands Citizen Soldier released a song I’ve been waiting for, Burden and it resonates with both Kalista and I. So, while listening to it on repeat for hours, the dam broke, and the words started flowing!

    As of publishing this, I have written 8,349 words in An Angel Falls bringing it up to 36.4k, AND I am happy to report that I added 5,200 words finishing the Greek Goddess Anthology story off with 12,552 words! :scream: For the first draft anyway. That’s a total of 13,594 words for the week (Not counting this newsletter. ^_^;

With the Editors:

Maxine still has the 1st section of Chaos Theory, but she’ll be reading it this weekend. 😊

Thank you for reading this far, here’s a quote from Angel Ensnared:

This comes from Chapter 9, because that’s where this week’s art piece comes from:

I was pulled from Remiel’s memory into one from my childhood. I sat in the loft window of the library at the Fire and Spirit Academy, and the Librarian before Ivanya, Mister Angylion sat on the other end of the seat.

It was the first time I went to the library after school instead of home. He’d seen how nervous I was and asked if I’d like some hot chocolate. He sat with me, sipping hot chocolate and talking about books. I hadn’t ever known his first name. I just felt safe with him, and I distinctly remember that something about him reminded me of Packana. Now that I knew he was an Angel of Truth in my father’s triumvirate, it made sense.

Time froze, and I stepped to the window seat. I pushed some of his long white hair over his shoulder and stared into his eyes.

WARNING: this book contains on explicit sex scenes. It also has scenes with gore, death, vulgar language, a “gentlemen’s club”, and lots of snark!

Thanks for getting this far!

Here’s a Teaser for Chaos Theory chapter 16!

“…I’m done playing your games. Get your people the Valkarah (Demoki word for the deepest pit of Hell) out of my city, or my people will start killing any of yours that they see. And, while you’re at it, tell Dearest Liam he’s at the top of my personal hit list,” I said and ended the call, wishing I was on the landline so I could slam the receiver onto the cradle. I lifted the phone back to my face. “Angyl, Call Discord. Make it urgent.”

      “Urgent call to Tao’Kita…”

Note: please, read what I require from Beta Readers in that blog
BEFORE committing to read, thank you.

Art Feature:

This is the art feature was something fun that I wanted to see and have wanted to see for a while. This features a very young Kalista, maybe 8 or 10.

The backstory is that Kalista didn’t want to go home right after school, and she didn’t have music lessons that day, so she went to the library where she met the former Librarian, Uriel Angylion, though she simply knew him as Mister Angylion. He saw the darkness in her aura even then, and recognize her for the prophesied Redeemer of the Broken. He sat with her, and let her talk out her fears. He then relayed them to her father via a letter as was his way, since he was one of Lucifer’s triumvirate of Truth.
