Weekly Newsletter 114: October 12

Author's Life:

      This week was full of business! I was writing, prepping for the hobby weekend, writing some more, deleting a lot, doing some art pieces, and circling back to writing. I wrote and deleted only to write more. It was both fun and frustrating.

      Hobby Weekend is this Thursday to Saturday and I’ll be taking the book orders to pack, hoping the T-shirts, and hoodies arrive before Thursday, they’re supposed to get here Wednesday *fingers crossed* and the paperbacks SHOULD arrive before then too *more fingers crossed*.

Writing & Editing:

Writing

      I FINISHED AN ANGEL FALLS! It ended up being 117,450 words for the “first draft” which is usually more like the 3^rd draft ^_^; THAT'S 14k words, and ONLY what got kept. I did delete almost 5k words. ^_^ Then I wrote some notes for the next book in that series, but now I’m on to Deadly Sirens, book 6 of the Created Angel Chronicles and the LAST ONE in the Deadly Siren quartet.

Beta readers:

They’re currently reading THE FINAL CHUNK at least 4 of them are anyway... (Chapters 31 through the Epilogue.) So far, they’re enjoying it, and here are some favorite quotes:

Chunk 1: 1-10

“We have baggage, PTSD, fear of abandonment, fear of commitment,” I [Chaos] counted on my fingers, “layers of walls so thick we need a tribe of Israel and brass orchestra to get through them, and overshadowing all of it is the fear that if anyone sees my darkness, they’ll think I’ve snapped, and lock me away somewhere that I can’t hurt anyone.”

A ringing device pulled me from the thoughts before they coalesced, and we all looked at our wrists.

      Twenty minutes later, we left the room, fully clothed, and headed for the elevator. I pulled out my phone and opened the call log, but Beryx set his hand over the screen.

      “Hey, you said later,” I whined as we stopped in front of the elevator.

      “Yes, but can’t we take this moment alone,” he asked, and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me back to him.

      “You don’t want me to call him back, do you?” I asked, and he sighed as his aura colored with passionate fury. I gently hooked my hands around his forearms and snuggled back against him.
