It’s the final countdown for An Angel Ensnared! Less than 5 days to release! This next week is going to be anxiety inducing, but I will take it one day at a time! First on the list computer repair…
Author's Life:
This week, I put the blog out Monday after forgetting it last weekend. I then spent most of my time in Cookies & Rage. Thanks to a couple friends, I got a new case for my desktop too! One of those friends will be helping me switch things over today via video call. She (and Matt too) helped me put it together the first time. I can’t wait to get back to doing more art. First up is the cover for An Angel Falls (Kalista book 6, coming Halloween 2025)!
In other news, my thumb still hurts so I’ll be calling the doctors on Monday to get an appointment. It’s annoying to say the least. Also, I have the Indie Author Day Event on Saturday, so I’ll wait until I get home from that to update everyone on how that went. I’m so very nervous still.
Writing & Editing:
I am still working on the edits for Cookies & Rage, I’ve made it to Chapter 10 (after combining many chapters), which is about 39k of 88k words. It’s about to get happy then really sad.
I also wrote a chapter of a new book. I have no title, no real ideas or timeline for it… It simply got stuck in my head and needed out. It doesn’t involve any MC from the current books, there are a couple side characters though. That kept me up late on Wednesday night…

Thank you for reading this far, here’s the Opening of An Angel Ensnared:
Prologue
“You’re not going to make her join?” Ramah asked as we sat in the meeting room. I shook my head and flipped through the papers, checking to be sure I hadn’t missed anything during the impromptu meeting. I hadn’t wanted to have a meeting until after the first of the year, but after last night’s murder, it couldn’t be helped.
“Of course not. She’s a grown woman, and she has her reasons for not joining. If she joins, it will be in her time and on her terms. I applaud her for that,” I said, still reading. He picked up his mug of coffee and shook his head.
“You’re avoiding the inevitable,” he mumbled into it. I dropped the portfolio enough to see him over the top of it. He didn’t notice. He sat back and the white that peppered his ebony hair glistened in the light. His dark brown eyes were focused out the window across the room. He was overthinking.
“That may be, but it isn’t up to us to decide. She will join eventually. When and how are not up to us. You will not force it,” I instructed, and he looked from the mug to me.
“Lucifer,” he started, and I snapped the portfolio shut. I dropped it onto the table and sat back.
“No, Ramah. You need to leave it be. You’re not going to pressure her, or force her, to choose. Let her have a few years to get used to life on Earth among the humans. She’s not used to this,” I said, gesturing outside to the traffic and bustling people. “Besides, you didn’t garner a love of structure or authority—” his eyes slid to me, and one of his bushy eyebrows rose. “Don’t give me that look. We both know how biased you were toward my niece. You’re just lucky that her father didn’t send someone to confront you.”
Art Feature:
Since the computer isn’t up yet, you get a picture I’ve been saving for a years. Consider this a teaser for Cookies & Rage. Plus a snippet from Chapter 2 underneath!
... Snow crunched nearby, right before a large, powerful preter energy reached toward me. I ducked behind a tree and dropped to one knee quickly packing a ball of snow and ice. No one got the drop on Anarchy, and I didn’t trust my volatile powers.
“I must have been seeing things,” A deep, jolly voice muttered. The voice was so calming that I contemplated dropping the snowball, but the power had the potential for malice, and my intuition screamed at me to run. I wouldn’t do either. I was no coward. I took a deep breath and spun around the tree, poised to throw my snowball. When I saw the preter that the voice belonged to, my jaw dropped.
