Happy New Year! It’s the first blog of the year, and so far, it’s been a productive year! Health hasn’t been so great, but that’s to be expected when a polar vortex settles over Western New York. The word for 2025, at least for me, is Productivity! Let's see if I can keep it up. 😉
Author's Life:
Therapy for the carpal tunnel and gamers thumb is still going well-ish, but I don’t see a huge improvement. I still have to wear my brace when doing anything with the hand (that doesn’t include water or food). This includes sleeping, because I wake up with it in more pain if I don't wear it. Besides that, I’ve been dealing with a uterus that doesn’t want to work right thanks to thyroid issues and PCOS. This week has been the “last straw” with the newest medication. Hopefully, it won’t take months to get back to feeling “normal” again.
The work Life:
Writing:
This week, I’ve not gotten a lot of writing done. At least not in Deadly Sirens. I took a couple days off due to said female issues affecting my brain, and wrote 4k words into a new story about another Born Angel who was on the Council of Fire and doesn’t currently have a soulmate.
For Deadly Sirens, my last word count in blog was 52,024 which was back on the 21st. Last week, Dec 22-28, I jumped from 52,024 to 73,420 for a total of 21,396 words added. Then this week, Dec 29-Jan 3, I made a jump of only 3,580 words, which is 77,000 words in the document as of this writing. So, in total I wrote 7,580 words this week.
Formatting & Editing:
In editing, I finished the very last pass through edit of Chaos Theory! It has also been formatted in eBook (Thank you, Matt🥰), Paperback, and Hardcover, plus a proof copy of the Hardcover will be here by Wednesday! I’m excited to see how it looks in Hardcover. I can’t put the paperback up for preorder until the 9th of January, but HOPEFULLY then you can preorder right from Amazon… unless you want signed copies. They will open here on my website on February 14th.

Art Feature:
This week, I wanted to show off the cover art for Chaos Theory without any of the words or the “oil painted” look. This has much more detail and you can see the skulls in the background which represent the catacombs under Paris. You can also see the pentacle at the center of the picture and the little Skulltula off to the right near Chaos’s shoulder.
